The Excavator is a tool given to all players at the work in progress Fort Avalon. To use it, you must press F to turn it on, and that will cause the saw to spin. Then, you can left click the mouse to extract ore if you are at an ore extraction site. This tool is used to be able to extract ore to take to a base to refine it, thereby gaining the game's currency, Voltaz, to purchase better weapons to fight with.
